People from all over the world responded to the call to design a poster about their relatives who were imprisoned in the Neuengamme concentration camp. The poster designs are transferred to printing plates, which are permanently and publically displayed on the grounds of the Neuengamme Concentration Camp Memorial. Thus the posters can be printed over and over again and they can be taken to all corners of the world.
We receive lots of enthusiastic feedback, to name one example: “This project is original and new, a way to give life to memories beyond the present time… wonderful. For us it fills our hearts to think that our nephews one day can come to Neuengamme memorial and find a track of my father… and of us.”
Unfortunately, the project’s fast-start funding is not sufficient to finance printing plates for all submitted poster motifs. We can guarantee the production of all printing plates for posters submitted until March 23, 2020. We are now looking for funding to realize further printing plates through sponsorships and donors. This may take some time. We therefore ask for your patience. The production of a printing plate costs around 100 euros. If you want to bear the costs for the printing plate of your poster motif yourself or would like to support the project with a donation, please let us know. However, a donation is not a requirement for participation in the Space to Remember.
Please continue to send us your poster motifs. Every poster will eventually be added to the Space to Remember, Connect and Support!
The “Space to Remember“ gives you the opportunity to remember your relative who was a prisoner of the Neuengamme concentration camp in a very personal manner and in your native language by creating an individual poster design.
