Relatives of former prisoners of the Neuengamme concentration camp are once again invited to honour their persecuted family member with a poster.
Since the opening of the Space to Remember, relatives of those persecuted have already designed more than 120 posters. The poster motifs are used to produce printing plates that can be seen in the grounds of the concentration camp memorial.
In the printing workshop in the ‘Plattenhaus’ at the Neuengamme Concentration Camp Memorial, these printing plates are then used to print posters that can be displayed and put up in the concentration camp memorial as well as in other places.
On 2 May 2024, we will once again jointly print, exchange ideas, put up posters and present some posters to the public:
Thursday, 2 May 2024, 14:00-17:00: Open printing workshop at the Space to Remember
During this time, all relatives can visit the printing workshop without prior notice to print their own poster. You will receive an introduction to the printing technique that was already used in the resistance against National Socialism and have the opportunity to exchange ideas with other relatives of victims of persecution. The posters can be taken home, distributed or made available for a presentation on site. We look forward to many international encounters and discussions!
Thursday, 2 May 2024, 17:00-18:00: Public poster presentation at the Space to Remember
Some relatives of former concentration camp prisoners will present their posters to the public at the Space to Remember. Afterwards, all relatives present are invited to jointly put up the posters they have designed.
Design your own poster
Relatives of former prisoners of the Neuengamme concentration camp who would like to design their own poster can find further information here.
Important: For printing plates that are to be produced before 2 May, we need the poster motifs by 25 February 2024 at the latest.
The Space to Remember working group is also happy to help with the design. Please send an email to info@ort-der-verbundenheit.org.
The production of the printing plates costs 120 euros per plate. Relatives of former prisoners can choose whether they want to bear the costs themselves or whether the costs should be covered by donations.
The working group Space to Remember, which is organised by relatives of former prisoners and other supporters, is therefore happy to receive donations:
