Leonard Stöcklein
Leo Stöcklein was born in 1993 and studied Latin, history and politics at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum and the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nuremberg. During his studies he accompanied the Sinto Siegfried Heilig, a survivor of the genocide, to eyewitness talks at schools. The encounters with Siegfried Heilig resulted in an increased interest in the minority, so that since 2019 he has been working on an international oral history project to examine the genocide of Roma in Belarus. Since completing his first state examination for the grammar school teaching profession, he has been working as a research assistant on a dissertation project with the working title "Memorials of the Sinti and Roma" at the Chair for Didactics of History in Erlangen-Nuremberg.
