Anne Klein
Anne Klein, Ph.D., historian, political and educational scientist, researcher and lecturer at the Faculty of Human Sciences, University of Cologne. After her first studies of psychology, sociology, education and art, she worked for a publishing houses, radio stations and civil right organisations. She finished her second studies of political sciences, history and languages with a Ph.D. at the Otto-Suhr-Institute of the Free University in Berlin with a study on "Flüchtlingspolitik und Flüchtlingshilfe, 1940-1942. Varian Fry und die Komitees zur Rettung politisch Verfolgter in New York und Marseille, 1940-1942" (Berlin: Metropol Verlag 2007). Anne Klein has directed several oral history projects as well as European memory projects. Her research is based on a critical epistemology to support marginalized voices and social movements in the context of democratization, (retroactive) justice and personal recognition.
